Sixteen active speakers (twelve in the BMW 6 Series Convertible) with a total of 1,200 watts (1,000 watts in the BMW 6 Series Convertible) produce music in brilliant quality. Just as in an orchestra, instruments and vocals assume their exact position and create musical enjoyment fit for a concert hall.
An automatically retracting centre speaker houses a mid-range driver and the acoustic lens. It is this acoustic lens that guarantees brilliant surround-sound in all seats and distributes the sound to provide constant audio quality in every part of the vehicle. Acoustic options can be selected: in “Studio” mode a clear sound emerges, while in “Expanded” mode the acoustic space appears enlarged, thus creating an incomparable surround-sound experience.
